Soccer Practice : Want To Warmup And Stretch
It’s both the coaches and players that pay no heed to the fact that stretching and warming up in relation to Soccer practice . You must understand that a practice session should aid the player’s total professional growth. In soccer training, performing daily drills is not good enough.
Strength, elasticity, and patience are necessary in players to stay active in the game. So every practice must start with warm-up and stretch. Later in the session, include games, drills, and any kind of technique teaching. Lastly, game tactics can be taught to the kids.
Warming up and stretching achieve two broad objectives. They prepare the body for a strenuous workout and at the end of the session, stretching relaxes the tired muscles. There are some drills that account for amazing stretching and warm up exercises.
1. Running in Formation: In this warm up activity, make all the members of the team run, two abreast, staying in step. This activity has the effect of building player’s stamina and instilling team spirit amongst players. What’s more, when the players progress in a set pattern, the opposing team tends to look at you as a strong wall to fight against.
2. Follow the leader: Another warm up soccer drills which help players get trained at following orders and dribbling while watching other team players. In this activity, every player should have a ball. Ask the assistant coach or an advanced player to lead the team. This leader should endeavor to make a lot of moves and the followers should copy him.
3. Reaching out: In soccer practice, this is a popular and very effective stretching exercise. Ask the players to stretch their legs apart and direct them left, right, and center. Then instruct them to touch their toes on all sides. Initially, the players will find it difficult but will get used to it soon.
4. Lift legs up behind: This exercise makes the thighs get stretched. In a standing position, the kids must fold their thigh and then hold it there for some time. Then repeat with the left leg. It is vital that the kids do not look at the ground otherwise, they may fall down.
Every practice must have an objective. Only a couple of skills should be worked on per week. Research on methods that help players improve their skills and also help them warm up and stretch.
Fitness is the key. Appreciate the fact that the team that gets worn out easily loses. Make sure that your fitness activities are drills that include soccer ball as much as possible. Do not let the kids run around the field without a ball, ask them to dribble with it.
